The Roadmap
It is time we Let Them Know! with the AYSRHR Youth-Led Global Roadmap for Action.
The achievement of Sexual and Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice (SRHRJ) for all young people requires the leadership and expertise of youth at the center of policies, programs and interventions at the local, national, and international levels.
Even though there are different youth-led initiatives, organizations, collectives, and networks that operate at different levels, these initiatives lack a dedicated space for sharing information, collaborating, strategizing, and working together to advance common goals
That’s where the AYSRHR Global Roadmap for Action comes in!
THE VISION
Our vision is that young people are equal partners in decision-making processes that ensure the sexual and reproductive health and rights needs and wants of young people are met, through five (5) priorities:
THE REPORT
THE INCEPTION
This Roadmap for Action was presented to the global community at the International Conference for Family Planning (ICFP) 2022 in Pattaya City, Thailand, and was designed and led by youth in collaboration with over 42 youth-led organizations at the helm.
The Youth-Led AYSRHR Global Roadmap for Action brings these youth voices together to outline a new vision for AYSRH and set out 2030 goals, priorities, and recommended policy actions, showing unity in the expression of young peoples’ SRHR needs and values across the world.
Each goal will express the priorities raised by young people at the 2020 benchmark, with recommended policy actions providing a roadmap for achieving universal access to youth-friendly family planning and SRH in relation to SDG 3.7:
“By 2030, ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health-care services, including for family planning, information and education, and the integration of reproductive health into national strategies and programmes”
The Global Roadmap for Action is led by IYAFP and the 120 Under 40: The New Generation of Family Planning Leaders program, with the support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health and Bayer AG.
We invite you to come with us on this journey.
